Hooptober 11: 21/31
Wow.
I sit here writing this in pure shock at what I just witnessed. It’s nihilistic, disgusting, hard to watch, but infinitely interesting. There are very few films that have given me the same feeling as watching this film; I Saw The Devil and Lady Vengeance to name a few. I don’t even know how to properly score, let alone write a review for this one. All I know is that the ending is one of the best endings I’ve ever seen, and I know I will be thinking about it for a long time.

I don’t know what I expected it to end like but it definitely wouldn’t be like THAT. I couldn’t help but laugh at the shocking hard cut from Alex crying, to an upbeat song about the moon. Fantastic performances and special effects. The scene of the man in the tube being chased by David is amazingly shot and tense, that is a highlight for me. This was a super fun watch for me, and I really enjoyed every aspect of it!

Hooptober 2022 #19
I just can’t find myself getting into Giallo films. The awkward dubbing takes me out of it so much, and as much as I love Suspiria, that is what took me out of it the most. This film is even worse in that regard. I also just found it boring for the first 2 acts, but I will say that the 3rd act picked up and I enjoyed it quite a bit. I cant deny Argento is a great stylistic director, but this film just didn’t hook me as much as Suspiria did.
