Fun and entertaining but still drags at just over 90 minutes. Thatcher and Gage are exceptional and the script handles reveals/twists very well. The themes are important but I can’t think of many films more blunt in how they spell out their thesis. I just felt like it never had a moment that takes it from good to great.

Raimi is such a talent. There is so much imagination and technical excellence in this film. The shot composition is just unreal. Bruce Campbell is fantastic. It’s a lot of fun and a lot of misery. Not to mention that, 42 years later, it’s still got scares that legitimately make you jump.
