A surprising amount of heart paired with a surprisingly good sense of humor. They had plenty of nice easter eggs and attention to detail to please D&D nerds, while still remaining completely accessible and understandable to those who have never encountered the hobby before.
It felt like the adventure really encapsulated many “classic” TTRPG experiences: botched plans, brainless characters, and seemingly improvised NPC names. All in all, it’s a far better movie than it has any right to be.
