Aftersun 2022
A very heavy movie to put down when you're done with it. No particularly intense emotional, oscar-bait scenes but somehow manages to be more emotionally thought provoking than most movies I've seen. I find most depictions of mental illness really miss the mark, but this one was pretty realistic. Callum can't let it get between him and Sophie, but in doing so creates a mask. Sophie never got to know her real father, and no matter what he does, she'll be hurt.
rating might change to five stars after more pondering

Was disgusted by anime before this movie but my friend told me he wouldn't allow me to talk shit until I watched this trilogy. I am more disgusted with anime than I was before. This is one of the best stories written in the last 50 years
