This movie is so wholesome and the animation of the underwater scenes are absolutely beautiful. It is about friendship and a child’s curious perspective on the world. Sosuke loves Ponyo no matter whether she is a fish or a human or somewhere in between! Also this movie is so trans-coded and I hope I’m not the only one who noticed. Ponyo’s dad is so gender and Ponyo symbolically exudes queer joy and gender euphoria after she transitions into a human :)
