Have you ever gone to the store with the yearning to buy something on the shelf that caught your eye? And every time you went you’d keep looking thinking this is the day? Then you finally do it, pull the trigger, and buy? And when you come home you realize, unwrapping it in all its glory, this actually really sucks?
That’s this movie. How strong it starts, readying itself on the dive board like some Olympian medalist only to belly flop laughably bad.

Mommy issues aside this movie is such a genuine fever dream. A love child of Blood on the Tracks, Perfect Blue, and Mulholland Drive. The first part is definitely a perfect encapsulation of a man confiding about his trauma in therapy, a distorted Beau speaking like a child as he recalls some of the rebellious acts of his life acting them out as one does in therapy mentally. It was a complete trip to see Beau around furniture much too…
