On the cusp of 4 stars for me but just felt too choppy at times. Unfortunately took away from the 10/10 cinematography and acting for me.
The cinematography was obviously brilliant. By leaning into the shadow-centric framing of every scene (as well as the colorplay with certain black-white scenes and the gradient back to color), Eggars was able to retain the integrity of the classic Dracula folktales as well as pay respect to Coppola.

Visuals, camera angles and music score were ON POINT—
Loved the cinematography. The aesthetics were constructed so intentionally for the flashbacks and a bunch of other scenes as well. The combination of the music with the vivid and dynamic camera shots really made the adrenaline pump.
The writing could be a bit more unique as the storyline progress feels slightly direct and straightforward…this doesn’t bore, but doesn’t quite satiate the audience’s anticipation.
I have to applaud the raw portrayal of India and the reality of its cities without adding any undertone of judgement. There is no white saviour lens on the movie, all it does is record everything and let you decide what to make of it. There’s almost no subjective opinions on the overall state of the country, its streets or its politics, what you see is what you get.
