He runs shit around here. We just live here.

A cultural icon, it is one of those films that points out the power of acting. Denzel delivered such a prominent performance alongside Ethan Hawke as two police officers with different ends of philosophical morality, two wolves with principles. Ima be honest, I’m here mostly for my man Denzel.

This is simply the classic sequel-won’t-top-the-first-one. I want to like this one. The cast are stacked, the set pieces are staggering, and the biceps of Rome are on every screen. Great writing, great script, great ending.

Captured me from the start, though there are some draggy moments but the third half of the film accelerates everything for me. Beautiful camera works and a dash of visual storytelling scenes that you pick up here and there that drive you "...???"

Every cast brought their A-game onto the table from the dashing lawyer to the annoying facts guy in the court scenes. Sandra Hüller did an amazing performance, you can see her powerful emotion in that one scene, and the boy, Milo Machado Graner, is going places for sure. AND Messi the dog, you are too cute.

One would call this the "near future". Funny.

Let me start by saying how bally Alex Garland is by putting this on the screen. Films like this sometimes do linger in your mind about how surreal art and life can be. In this context, calling this a social commentary is almost an understatement. What you saw, could be a peek into what we might get ourselves into. Fighting for rights, seeking out the truth through bullets and belief, after manifesto…
