Exceptional production design and special effects plus some great creativity with the concept, with mostly solid performances by the two leads, particularly Spader. The slightly unsteady script and direction hold back this classic popcorn flick a little bit.

Let's Kill Ward's Wife 2014
Playing out like FX’s The League crossed with Very Bad Things, the film doesn’t try anything too ambitious beyond the dark central concept, yet there are some chuckles to be had from the largely good performances of its cast. Unfortunately, the film ends 30 minutes to soon, leaving you wanting for that third act where everything comes to head, only receiving what feels like a rushed, underwhelming finale.

The Seventh Continent 1989
A well-shot tale of consumerist malaise that festers into one of the gloomiest third acts I’ve seen.
If the color grey was a film.
I can’t tell whether I like it or just respect it. I’ll have to sleep on it.

Lawrence of Arabia 1962
Incredible cinematography by Freddie A. Young, outstanding music by Maurice Jarre, and wonderful production design. While this David Lean film might not be 100% accurate, it is certainly moving and engaging. An epic from beginning to end.
Particular praise to Omar Sharif’s performance as Sherif Ali ibn el Kharish.
