  “We accept the reality of the world with which we’re presented. It’s as simple as that.” 

  I love this so much. Peter Weir truly underrated. It’s not inherently wrong to stay within the confounds of the world we created in our heads. But sometimes it is important to be reminded that these mental boundaries or limits of our world can be transcended. Many Christian undertones in that philosophy.

  “When they see those fourteen lights, they’re looking at a miracle. And deep down, they feel that whatever’s going to happen, there will be someone there to help them.”

  I could not have said it better myself. The idea of belief in a savior and grand protector is not as easy as one is lead to believe. Signs shows the struggle to find faith and cope with family. While it is masked as an alien movie, it goes so much…

  I have to appreciate the imagination of this film. It can be frustrating not living in complete reality but sometimes life is bigger than pen and paper. How you perceive memories is often more important than how they actually happened and that’s how most people look fondly on childhood. In living his life this way, in some way he is able to have people looking fondly on his life.
