This was a fascinating watch, great editing and cinematography to display the subjectivity of the points of view. How language is used, the flowing from French to English at times in more relaxed situations, and the jerky tones and layers of difference between French, English and German in the court room. Presentation, emotion and perception shown to be key despite the insistence of the prosecution, the defence, and the judge that what they are talking about is facts and justice.

Great performance from Sandra Hüller, and v. good from Milo Machado Graner.

    Terrific film.

Gets across what a weirdo Napoleon is and his neurosis. Doesn't really get across why he was loved - it emphasises that 3million people died in his wars - but doesn't think it important as to why some were willing to put themselves in that position.

The absurdity of Directory France was really well done and Phoenix makes an interesting if not particularly charismatic Napoleon

Bundarchuck remains the GOAT for both Borodino and Waterloo portrails
