  "Say that again?"

  it's been grim lately but here's the thing, this movie is pretty sick, honestly a good adaptation of the ultimate universe F4 aside from the fairly pathetic version of doom

  definitely falls down after the first hour, the director josh trank apparently sucked to work with but he clearly had a vision for the film, would've liked to see how this film would look if he had full creative control

  bring back miles teller as the maker

  look, a nerd with a camera

  the effects are dated and the found footage angle doesn’t always work but i respect their commitment to it especially near the end

  i understand why they gave the director a chance to make a fantastic four movie after watching this

  movie is fairly non-political despite it's name and plot synopsis, i wanted to like it more than i did but it's not a bad film necessarily, just pretty standard and middle of the road, no idea why bruce banner isn't in it though

  harrison ford gives a strong performance as president ross but liv tyler as betty ross is effectively reduced to a cameo despite her being namedropped throughout the film, makes me wonder if she should've just been recasted…

  The noises from the abyss feel unnecessary and our protagonist is almost a little too passive to stretch out the runtime but it’s a strong concept with a mostly solid execution, definitely does terror better than a lot of other films out there
