soooo interesting to rewatch at 24 vs 15... big thoughts big feeling on coming of age & contradictory emotions i felt watching second time around... from admiration to concern from jealousy to pity from little adult looking up to tall child looking down from being on one side of the glass and then suddenly finding yourself on the other... vulnerability naivety and the confidence that brings but also the fear the lack of awareness & the desire to just figure out your place in the world and the missteps we make on our way to finding that path when we are on that journey

depth in plot was missing but that's not why i watch a gia coppola movie.... i watch for the pretty shots and space to anguish without language in a way that only people with privilege can afford... for the weird themes of parental abandonment i've noticed repeatedly cropped up from palo alto to this... and thematically of course, may pertain to areas of my life mayhaps... oh and of COURSE we watched for miss pamela anderson icons only!!! and to collect visual images for the well!!

I liked the way it was shot in terms of color grading & some of the more aesthetic choices, compositions / diff shots that felt more artful than I expected, but also the last scene???? it was so long for no reason and then I expected there to be like an hour more after and it was just.... over.... and i don't think it needed to be like that. also just embrace the polycule the plot would have been stronger for it and it would have been sexyyyyyy ( •ॢ◡-ॢ)
