Starts with butt, ends in but why
The first act was quicker than I thought, there's no dwelling in the fairy tale of it. Super funny throughout the middle act before ending in a gut punch despite knowing where it's going. It's a struggle against the inevitable, trying to stay in the fantasy after it's already over.
Thematically it feels to me like an inversion of how the Florida project progressed. I appreciate that film for ending with the escapist fantasy, Anora starting with it and seeing it slowly torn away hurts more
