It’s become somewhat of a Christmas tradition for myself to watch this every year and every year I still never get tired of it. The amazingly inventive art style of this movie feels almost lifted straight out of a storybook. This unique take on the origins of Christmas brings along with it a heartwarming story about the power of good deeds and building community. I especially loved that the key to changing the town for the better was through the children.

I Saw the Devil 2010
An uncomfortable reflection on the glorification of violence and how audiences are conditioned to revel in revenge plots. The degradation of the main character feels all too real as the structure of the story brings the viewer to come to grips with their own participation in the unhealthy indulgence of revenge, which has no winners.

Interstellar 2014
A visually stunning film, the backgrounds and special effects always strike me with such awe and wonder for space and the universe. At the same time, it has an expertly paced script that drives home the gravity of each second spent in space. The story between Murph and Cooper had me hooked on every line.
