Don't spend money on this.
Part of me wanted to rail on Brave New World and everything it has going against it but I can't. Its just boring and bad. If they wanted to make propaganda they should've at least pretended to give a shit. I'm glad I didn't have to pay to see this, but watching it to satisfy my curiosity wasn't even worth it.
First 2025 theater watch!! It was good!! Felt like I was expecting the movie to touch on systemic issues in a tongue and cheek way a bit more but it feels like its more about how community is the safest thing to lean on under oppressive systems? Or maybe I'm reaching and its just a funny movie that wants to bask in its own freedom to do whatever it wants. I have to respect that.
Side Note: So happy to see Ray Santiago in something other than Ash vs. Evil Dead, even if it is only for a few seconds at the start
This has been a deeply troubling experience that had me questioning my sanity the whole way through. Loved when that one guy threatened to show Shaggy how cute he was.
Watching this through the eyes of my roommate who had never seen it before was a magical experience.
This was so much more than I thought it'd be?? The ambience is used so efficiently throughout to help attach you to the feeling of instability and horror that comes with war.

Enjoyed a lot more than I thought I would? Not that I thought I wouldn't like it, moreso just felt as though it would just be average. That was a stupid thought for me to have given how much I've loved every other Miyazaki film I've taken in. Totoro rules.
