  Beautifully shot, well acted, but very light on concept. It has the most insufferable monologue ever committed to film (seemingly intentionally). The film telegraphs its resolution, which is ultimately pretty empty.

  I'm not sure I've ever seen a film with such consistent production and consistent plotting, that is so empty, so devoid of characterisation and so soulless. Eventually it just felt like one thing was happening after another and I didn't care about anyone or anything. The acting is uniformly bad/bland which is remarkable with such a strong cast. I'm disappointed but mostly I'm bored.

  This is a sincerely boring film. Irredeemably bland and made worse by cinematography that attempts a subtle beauty but only achieves a flat, soulless monotony. When it tilts its hand toward horror and dreamscape, it gets downright silly. Here's hoping Part 2 fares better in this rewatch.
