The virgin suicides is the most accurate representation of the male gaze that I have ever seen in a book/movie. The way that the story is portrayed through the eyes of teenage boys is genius. All of the signs are there, but they are never recognized by the boys. They only see them through their beauty (through their “male gaze”).
