Lovely!
As a child who loved the 90s film and the book, later on loved the west end production as well, my expectations were very high for this one.
Just like its stage predecessor, this is a courageous production, beautiful and bold. The acting is amazing, although I am rarely not amazed by children’s acting in musicals; sets and costumes are not realistic, which I think goes very well with musicals and this version of Dahl’s story is lovely, renewed and yet, at its core, just the same story that made me love books as a child.
