I’ve been thinking about rewatching this lately and I’m so glad I did. This has been sitting with me ever since I watched it the first time and man do I love this film. I can’t even begin to describe all the ways I think I appreciate this but I’m going to try. This is so simplistic yet so beautifully crafted that it is able to strike different chords throughout without much going on at all. Life can be so…

Didn’t really know how I’d feel about this but my mind is absolutely blown. An absolutely transcendent experience that goes past the dimension of time. I interpreted 2001 as a 3 set play. The past present and future. The first 3rd being the dawn of man and what I was drawn to was the use of naturalistic observation and the introduction of a tool/weapon that changes man for the better or worse depending on how you interpret it. The second…

I really like this film! Obviously Kieran Culkin has gotten all the flowers for this one rightfully so but Jesse Eisenberg delivers some monologues in this that really drive this thing home and hit pretty good. I love this film from a thematic perspective and how trauma is used as a connection device! Dealing with historical trauma as a people group while dealing with the very immediate relationship conflict and coming to terms with how time changes things really is…

Rip David lynch:/ this man’s mind truly was a marvel, a man so innovative that he revolutionized an emotion and feeling within cinema. Never have I experienced a director where rewatches truly feel like a first time experience. I really need to take a further dive into this man’s filmography and his mind. Unbelievable atmosphere created every time with some of the best cinematography ever, you can’t get caught up with trying to explain everything going on you just have to get lost in his world

What a first showing for my Sundance experience. Getting to see Lionel Richie introduce this and feel the passion got me into this right away. I of course have heard the world renowned song “we are the world” but didn’t know the awesome story behind it. I don’t watch too many documentaries but this was such a treat. The footage of the recording session with some of the worlds most famous musicians was mesmerizing to watch. The best voices all in the world in one room I can’t imagine. Check this out when it hits Netflix!

I truly do not believe what I have just witnessed. Was going to wait til Thursday to watch this but I just couldn’t wait any longer especially with spoilers all over. Denis villenueve operates on a magnitude and scale I don’t know if I ever seen. Initial reaction is this is the best sci-fi movie i have ever seen. The meticulously crafted world building from the first one carried over to demonstrate total immersion into this world. I really loved…
