The Trial of the Chicago 7 2020
All in all, this is probably my second favorite Chicago-based courtroom drama. The first is obviously the 2002 musical, Chicago, which includes a scene where Richard Gere literally tap dances in court.
Anyway, some thoughts:
-This movie was clearly written by a white man
-Characters calling out their own metaphors.
-Long winded speeches ending in a discussion of proper grammar.
-Joseph Gordon Levit standing up at the end...cry me a river
-Sacha baron cohen doing stand up...more of that please …Translated from by -
I'm Thinking of Ending Things 2020
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
This was confusing as hell but also good. Upon finishing, I immediately googled what the heck happened (shoutout to Indiewire) and I liked it more.
Like Jesse Plemons’ character, Jake, I too have created an entire personality out of things I got from consuming too much media. Just ask the 15 seasons of grey’s anatomy I watched before applying to nursing school.
I don’t loveeee the whole “man makes up woman in his head to further his own storyline” trope,…
