The evil industrialist is far too evil and our poor immigrant is far to poor (r*ped, disabled wife, implied SA against niece — as if surviving a concentration camp and immigrating to America isn’t hard enough).
The standing scene at the end really sealed it for me. Just in case you didn’t get it, immigrants are brave and against all odds, STAND UP, to injustice. Unlike those weak, evil industrialists…

edit: ok i'll be more specific. After reading about the science/physics theories behind the movie it's safe to say there are no black hole sized plot holes. That doesn't mean those plot choices made the movie better artistically (although him getting spit out and being totally fine is still questionable). The resolution is far too clean and cheery for a movie that's thematic strengths relate to loss. Love being the secret ingredient remains corny af.
