  i like seeing the characters flesh out and mature throughout the years. None of the messages were mindblowing, and i don’t think it was meant to be. it was a look into one snippet of this aging couples relationship. really appreciated how the movie can have a nuanced look at love beyond the honeymoon stage and learning to work through the difficult parts as we grow older. It’s a happy ending but not in a riding off into the sunset happiness. it’s closer to a real life kind of happiness, one with hints of bitter sweetness mixed in, and i think that’s much more impactful.
