Great movie combining important times in US history, fascinating characters and strong acting. Particularly compelling in an I-Max theater.
Miracle on 34th Street draws you into the miracle of Christmas. It’s not a time - it’s a mindset Santa Claus declares. He says you need to put common sense aside and believe and keep on believing.
While this movie bristles with Christmas spirit, it’s also a heart-warming love story, and a wonderful reminder for all of us about finding true joy and happiness in life.
It’s a great movie portraying how a serious romantic relationship that starts out very strong can be doomed to unravel because of each person’s different underlying values.
The first two thirds of the movie is slow - it was filmed in 1953 - but the last third pulls it altogether. The path of the film may seem predictable at times but strong acting and a compelling theme keep you engrossed.
I credit Ryan’s high rating for leading us to this film.
