ive got nothing to say that hasn’t been said before about this 2-hour dev hell cautionary tale. cgi is obscenely off-putting which i wouldn’t care about if the movie didn’t cost roughly the same as a 75 foot skyscraper⁽¹⁾.
Regardless, here’s a list of gripes I’ve got with this 2-hour bastardization of a story that wasn’t even that good to begin with:
- almost every comedic beat is painfully unfunny. same level as 2012 millennial-bashing facebook humour
- heavily compromises…
Hate to say this but crazy disappointment. Felt like everyone was just reading from the script with little direction. Every shot is super tight and obviously that can be done well but this movie was really boring visually, uninteresting editing and cinematography. The game talk felt inauthentic and overall I think they were going for a moneyball type hit
EDIT 17/08/23: Rating changed from one star to two and a half. Looking back 1 star was far too harsh. Movie was gratingly average.
excellent and exhilarating from start to finish. each plot string ties together perfectly and the ending is the bright ribbon bow to wrap it all up.
