  One thing I have noticed in both "The Rider" and "Nomadland" that they might be shot from our protagonist's point of view, but other characters and their stories matter just as much as the protagonist. The fact that most of them are real people adds even more weight to that (Lane Scott in the Rider and Charlene Swankie in Nomadland.) And It's also one of the reasons her movies work so well for me.
