A relatively pleasant entry in Wes Anderson's filmography. Framed with a lovely aesthetic, the Royal Tenenbaums showcases an odd tale of burnout and the toxicity of parental pressures to succeed at a young age. Gene Hackman delivers a great presence as Royal.

A fantastic use of un-reliable narrator told in 3 acts, where each main character has an opportunity to regale their own perspective on the story. While Le Gris's perspective was rather flimsy in execution, overall intention of the perspective positively added to the film. The lack of confirmation on who's truth at the end adds another layer to the complexity of humans, how they see themselves versus how people around them perceive them. Well directed, great setting, mostly well acted (sorry Ben Affleck), and thrilling action.
