A fantastic debut by Charles Laughton, ‘The Night of the Hunter’ sets itself apart from other films of the Mid 20th century as it was based on the true story of serial killer Harry Powers who was hanged in 1932.

With a gripping tale and with some of the best cinematography I’ve ever seen, one can’t argue that this film is visually and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. But, as it was strong visually, the film labored  in pace for…

Not only do I believe 'Barbarian' is one of the greatest Horror debuts since James Wan's 'SAW', but I believe this could possibly be one of the greatest Horror films of the past decade.

Eight months since I saw this film, I still cannot stop thinking about it. From the direction, to the originality of writing, to the characters, score, and cinematography.

Director Zach Cregger did an incredible encapsulating his vision and showcasing it to the audience. I cannot wait to see what else he has in store!

Kaufman and Gondry provide us with an authentic look inside the despondency of heartbreak by taking us on a familiar yet innovative structuring of loss, torment, and acceptance. The final memory with Winslet and Carrey, was what brought the picture together, as it incapsulated everything one must go through when dealing with the struggle of separation. That being sorrow, communication, acceptance, and closure.

This film brought originality to a forever cliché'd genre, and will continue to be accepted as one of our finest screenplays/films of our time.

The ending sequence between Andrew and Terrence is one for the books. Much like an overture to a music composition, the ending is somewhat of a grand finale to the war of mentor VS. student. An incredible film and a must watch for film structure, psychology of perfectionism, and character development.
