‘There Will Be Blood’ restored my faith in modern filmmaking. It is a beautifully crafted tapestry composed equally of cinematography, character, and music, telling a tale of tragedy, ambition, but most of all, blood.

The Maltese Falcon 1941
The Maltese Falcon is a great movie, representative of a different era in filmmaking. That sort of quick paced PI movies with not technically much action has really disappeared from the spectrum of movies today.
It’s a rather old movie, and so everything was a little different to what it is today. The dialogue was very fast and nearly every interaction was crucial to the plot, so the audience had to actively pay attention. The conversations’ meanings weren’t obvious either,…
