when you try your best but you don't succeeed ~~ (lyrics by coldplay) just about sums this movie up . james was a very compelling character, doing everything everyone tells him to all the time, and just getting super silly with it! this film is a glowing review of the tourism industry, and a good film for rich people to watch and feel good :) i loved how wacky all the characters were, and it bears repeating; just how often they got jiggy with it! i saw no themes in this movie, or any deeper meanings, and i am really smart.
i watched this movie during my 7th divorce trial (don't ask) and i gotta say i LOVED to hate it! theres no pissing, no pooping, VERY little kissing; and heck. i'll say it. ARRRRRREREEERREERRGGGBBBGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! why is my husband divorcing me ???? :((( i don't know but what i DO no is this movie wasn't very good. alllooomooniiyyy dust in the wind all we are is dust in the wind ~~~ is what i'd say if i was at a Kansas…
while its no "california christmas" OBVIOUSLY, i'd take into account an age old adage when considering to watch this movie, which i'll now recite to you in latin real quick;
"da ei facultas".
for those with less of a love for " macadamia" i'll translate thus . in english this means, put simply to "give him a chance".
some people may be confused by this film, but not me. to me, bc of my scholar, and have high test scores…
Reminiscent of the works of Kubrick, Scorsese, and lesser known Chad Yeager this absolute show-stopping psychological thriller will have you writhing with intellectual pleasure. Few minds can truly appreciate the nuanced complexities of Zac Efron's performance of a tortured self righteous utterly unremarkable 17 year old, and even fewer Matthew Perry's performance of a self righteous utterly unremarkable 37 year old. This film bravely bares it all; borderline incest played for laughs, inappropriate power dynamics written into situations barely justifiable as comedy, and plenty of sexism to keep you coming back for more.
