A Real Pain 2024
Eisenberg’s monologue at the dinner with the tour group was one of the most real and relatable explanations of the human struggle I think I’ve ever witnessed in a film.
Him and Kieran are just such a good a good mix and the way they utilize Polish origins and the holocaust as their medium for reconnection and cathartic revelation is so pure. It’s a great representation of growth and hardship and how we all embody and experience the journey of life and its struggles in different ways, and sometimes all it takes to heal those wounds is connection.

Genuinely couldn’t finish this all the way through. I’m numb to Godzilla. Every film is the exact same plot just with new monsters and supposedly different human tech.

Road House 1989
Still very much a dude film but with boobies and some late-80s grit. Full of edgy one-liners and forced comedy, nearly gave me some Caddyshack vibes.
The cinematography and sound design is dated, to be expected, and the fighting somewhat cartoony at times. Nowhere near up to snuff when compared side by side with its 2024 counterpart.
Regardless, the OG Road House is the better film, albeit only slightly.
