I thought this movie, initially, would be more plot-dense and convoluted, like a Nolan film. Instead, it focused more on making the audience feel a certain way, and I like that so much more for this film.
You start off as David Mills, and at the end of the film you’re Detective Somerset. There’s a quote by George Carlin: “Inside every cynic there’s a disappointed idealist.” This movie somehow effortlessly makes you feel that.
