It’s fine. I don’t think I’ll ever be over the needless “protag was abused and that’s supposed to Mean Something” beat. Shyamalamadingdong just doesn’t know how people Talk, so some of the “tense-by-default” scenes just buckle under weird dialogue.

A movie that has been spoiled for me countless amount of times through “Most Fucked Up Movie Endings” listicles, yet was engaging throughout its march to a predictable end.
I bet the ending hit like crack back in 2011, but the “you inadvertently killed your family” trope has been so overdone, probably in part because of this, since this came out.
