    Picture This

    ★★★½

An earnest romantic comedy full culture and all the cliches that despite being standard is still enjoyable.

The chemistry between the two romantic leads is really good. The supporting cast play their parts good as well. Quite an rewatchable film that I can see becoming a comfort film.

    The Christmas Gift

    ★★★

Even though the film is your typical Hallmark Christmas film, it was still enjoyable despite some dialogue/script flaws. The love story/chemistry between the two leads are believable enough to push the film a bit up.

    Rest in Power Michelle Trachtenberg.

Doctor Who: Horror of Fang Rock

    ★★★★½

A masterclass in limited cast and settings. The Horror of Fang Rock is often considered one of The Fourth Doctor's (Played brilliantly by Tom Baker) best serials for good reason. Mysteries set in small locations with small casts for the most part work because the players tend bounce off each other naturally while trying to get to the fix the problem that has gone off the rails. Add in the acting skills of the cast and the gothic set design and mood, you are watching something that is a step away from a masterpiece.

    ★★★★

In this age of blockbuster action and superhero films, Beast was a surprising Survival thriller film. While the plot is fairly to follow, Beast makes up for it in other departments. The acting by the limited cast was believable and enough emotional depth were given to showcase the chops of the actors. The cinematography of South Africa was stunning and honestly some of the best I've seen this year. Also the CGI of the lion was realistic enough where you could suspend your disbelief.

I feel this might become one of the underappreciated films of the year.
