  this was such an impressive directorial debut for Paul Dano, i love that man... overall a very simple story about a family completely falling apart but the acting and visuals is what makes this movie stunning. i related to Joe without ever being in his position and felt for the parents even though they did horrible things... and the way this movie is shot and set is just beautiful i couldn't take my eyes off of it
