Sorry to Bother You 2018
I remember watching this for the first time in theaters, and it was such an excellent presage for the anti-capitalist, surrealist movement in movies that would follow in the coming years. Really impressive, weird, awful and compelling the first time, and even more so now.

The Substance 2024
One of the most jarring, textured, carnal and masticatory films I think ever made. Completely over the top, nuked with psychedelic amphetamines. So timely for the age of hyperbolic, avant-garde horrors, delivering a hallucinatory parable for the skins we wear, narratives of beauty, ugliness, self-image, hedonism, and the plasticity of all of it. It’s all about balance folks, sometimes you gotta put that shit to the extreme to show it.
