Hard to rate this one because I'm having a hard time grappling with the scale of it all—hard to really relate to the ruler in this situation and I think this movie wants me to be sympathetic towards him? He had so much diva potential but he was just kinda lame, for lack of a better term. Other than that, the scale and the drama of it all was pretty neat!

Kinda hard to gather my thoughts about this one... I think it achieves its goals thematically but I'm not entirely sure how I feel about it. I unfortunately knew about some of the rougher parts of this one in advance so it wasn't as shocking to me as it could've been. I would probably watch it again, but I probably wouldn't like it much better since it's a little too grim. Soundtrack kinda slapped though, and the special effects really rocked.

Even more beautiful and emotional than I expected. At the worst it may be a bit difficult to grasp at times but it only makes me want to watch it over again. Made me thoughtful in ways I haven't been in a long time.

Outside of a couple very minor character decisions I think this movie is wonderful. I've never actually seen a Godzilla movie before, so I'm not really sure what to be looking for in regards to formula, but I think following the survivors of WWII makes this film heart-wrenching and difficult to ignore once you get into the swing of it.
