  Melo Movie 2025

  I'll admit I mainly watched this for Choi Woo-shik (my dream man), but this was so disappointing. The plot line was very thin and I felt there was little chemistry between Woo-shik and Park Bo-young. I wasn't invested in their relationship at all.
  The subplot with the other couple was a bit more interesting, but even then their interactions were frustrating and unrelatable. Sadly, I really think something was lost in translation here. Slow and depressing.

  I'll admit I love anything with Aubrey Plaza (secret girl crush 🤫) but this had me hooked from the first 10 minutes.
  Great script, great acting, action and suspense.
  Also what I imagine is an accurate description of the sh*t lifestyle of student-loan-owing Americans today.

  Would it be hyperbole to claim a particular movie changed the world? I think I can say this about The Matrix. My memory was tainted by the rubbish sequels that followed, but rewatching the OG after all these years was a fantastic experience. Storyline, special effects, Keanu in his prime.... everything holds up and still feels fresh. Hugo Weaving gives a masterful performance. Next time you watch it, look for the reflections reflections reflections. Top movie.

  Love Hurts 2025

  I will watch any Hollywood movie with an Asian lead (why aren't there more?) and at 83 minutes this is the shortest movie I've watched in 20 years (a definite plus!). Amusing fight scenes, but Ariana DeBose was woefully miscast in this. The 20 year age gap between male and female leads has got to go!
