A Silent Voice: The Movie 2016
It's a prominent issue in animanga generally that women tend to be infantalised but combining that with a character who has a disability just makes it feels all the more gross. Shouko barely feels like a character.
I get we're telling a story about Shoya wanting to make up for the horrible things he did in his past, and as a concept I actually really like that idea but it shouldn't come at the cost of telling the victims much more interesting story.Translated from by

A guy telling his estranged daughter "I don't think this is going to work out" is hilarious, imagine just getting sick of your kid and essentially dumping them.
