I loved how horny this movie was, especially when you consider that it’s set in the Victorian era where society was extremely sexually repressed. It makes Ellen’s reactions to Count Orlok that much more poignant, this guy has allowed her to be embrace her sexuality. And that’s freeing. Masterpiece.

Gladiator II 2024
I imagine the director’s cut will be better because this feels like it was totally butchered in the editing bay. I love Paul Mescal but he was terribly miscast in this role, never has the distinction between “good actor” and “movie star” been more on display.

Why wasn’t this sent to theaters?! What an absolutely star making performance from Aaron Pierre. Everyone should be calling him, no reason why his phone shouldn’t be ringing off the hook. Sauliner is back, it’s been too long since Green Room. Solid AnnaSophia Robb and Don Johnson too. I do like how this was very ACAB, but it wasn’t ACAB enough. Maybe the best movie of the year for me right now.
