This movie is, without a doubt, one of Jim Hensons greatest masterpieces. The star-studded lineup of guest cameos is fantastic, from Joan Rivers to Liza Minnelli. The writing is great, and the comedy from the characters is fantastic., My only flaw with this film is that I felt some major plots were slightly rushed... there is quite a few scenes which could have potentially been switched out, but overall it is a brilliant movie. The ending is absolute pure cinema, and is one of the greatest scenes ever to come out of Hensons magical world of Muppets.
this movie DESERVED the oscar in 2001. this film is an absolute classic… all the characters are likeable, even the villains, the plot is great and the dialogue and comedy is hilarious. the soundtrack is fantastic as well, features so many cool 90s/early 2000’s bangers. nothing will ever make me laugh as hard as the chicken dance scene near the end of the film, its stupidly funny
the muppets are like marmite… and i LOVE THEM. this movie is basically a prequel to the muppet show tv series, that oversees how the muppets met and began their show. anything jim henson touched when he was alive turned into an absolute masterpiece, and this is a prime example of that. it opens with kermit performing his oscar nominated track ‘the rainbow connection’ and it sets the scene for the movie perfectly. seeing kermit begin his friendship with fozzie…
an interesting film with great acting and some horrifying scenes. i was expecting a sort of plot twist that linked the events to the beginning of the film, but as you enter the final quarter of the film you release that there isn’t actually going to be any sort of development at all. i enjoyed the film, however it was sometimes difficult to keep focus as the characters lacked any sort of personality throughout the entirety, and the climax was just… okay. i was probably just expecting more as it’s taken me so long to watch it, but i’m glad i did
