  why did they yassify her so much. It didn’t help that she had makeup done 24/7 so it looked like the whole time she was just looking for her iphone.

  Each to their own, but Aftersun just didn’t work for me. While I understood and appreciated the emotional depth and themes of nostalgia and loss, the slow pacing and minimalist storytelling left me bored. I watch films to appreciate all aspects, not just the message, and while I see why others loved the rawness of it, it just wasn’t enough to keep me engaged. Not sure how the storytelling would work in a book but i’d probably enjoy in that format more.
