I don’t know if I can think of a cultural artefact more quintessential to the British experience than the life and times of Robert “Robbie” Williams.
This is a film that highlights a story of ambition and class that won’t make sense to America’s temporarily embarrassed millionaire or swathes of Britain’s bourgeois .
It may be cabaret, but it’s world class cabaret and he’s the fucking best at it.
This kind of twee sub Richard Cutis nonsense drives me insane when it’s done well so pair that with a *dreadful* script and the presence of Noel Clark doing the absolute worst and most pointless American accent you’ll ever hear and you get this film.
I will not be taking any questions at this time.
My thoughts on this film are for therapy and not a letterbox’d review.
