  I can't believe I've never seen this movie before. I loved Cary Grant in this! It's so fun and action-packed, the score is great - what more could you ask for. But Grant's suit really had to take a beating.

  Watch a film featuring Hattie McDaniel

  I liked the movie surprisingly well because I found the plot relatively complex for one of Sternberg's films. The individual sets are also very varied. And Dietrich is simply stunning again - the movie is worth seeing for that alone. Unfortunately, the enjoyment is spoiled by some racist scenes. Hattie McDaniel only makes a brief appearance, but at least she's not just portrayed as a joke.

  This movie is just amazing. It captures the flair of a film noir so perfectly - even though much of the movie takes place in glaring sunlight. And because it's a Polanski movie, it's also important to remember that a movie is always a total work of art: the cinematography and the music are really great.
