Ritual 2000
Films are like dreams, the lens serving as a gateway through which we can enter those dreams. Dreams serve as a means of escaping the potentially unbearable reality we are subjected to, just as much as films do. We can never fully grasp what is found within our dreams, just as much as we cannot grasp the seemingly infinite barrier between a camera lens and the reality simulated through its recording.

Drive 2011
There was a time in my life where I had not yet seen Drive (2011). This time is long over and I am very thankful that I was able to see this at such a pivitol point in my life. It changed everything, it changed how I view and experience film entirely. Perhaps Refn has made even better films, yet this one will always be one of my favourites

This movie breaks fully grown men. The presentation, the cinematography, Paul Mescals phenomenally reserved, intricate performance as well as one of the best musical inclusions I have ever seen on the big screen- this movie has it all. A story about a lost man in his 30s and his daughter who has yet to realize the tragic events soon to unfold, discovering her sexuality in the process. Perfect film in every sense of the word.
