The way the film embeds characters’ stories into the shimmering melee of life in 21st century Mumbai is astonishing, exhilarating and very compelling. The city’s activity unceasing through the night and the drenching monsoon rains.

Now that I’ve seen two films by Coralie Fargeat I can see that she has potential to become a VERY big director over the next decade. It also clarified that I really don’t like her films. I had to finish this because I started it, in the same way that I used to have to finish an episode of Knight Rider because I started it.

This is my fifth Wim Wenders title and - aside from these being some of the most fantastic looking films made by anybody - I'm starting to think that he is also my favourite director when it comes to male protagonists. Bruno Ganz is fantastic in this and I loved Dennis Hopper's increasingly frazzled performance.

I'm developing a theory that Jef Costello isn't really an assassin.
He's an out of work male model who has been spending the last two years learning the Paris Metro and choosing a hat.
It isn't surprising that his first job as a hit-man goes this badly.
