  What an incredible film!

  Super impressive scaling and vfx, and the sci-fi was ahead of its time. Also loved the costuming, which I’ve been paying more attention to recently.

  I absolutely hate this movie.

  I understand that it’s unreasonable to expect artists of any kind to be 100% original, especially today, but every single memorable moment is stolen beat for beat, note for note from the classics that came before it. The roommates number? The Young Girls of Rochefort. The Paris epilogue scene? Carbon copy from An American in Paris. The “tragic and heartbreaking” ending? Lifted directly from The Umbrellas of Cherbourg.
