Better than Death Wish. Gritty, but has a lot of heart. Just misses a Herbie Hancock soundtrack.

Without a shadow of a doubt, this is the best shark movie of 1999™️

A really fun and ambitious take on the slasher genre. Super campy and cheesy, but a lot of love and thought put into this fun little flick. Also, Jeffery Combs elevates every film he stars in. One excellent mullet too.

As much as I appreciate the 90s music video editing was used to help mask the film’s budgetary limitations, it’s a little annoying now. Especially in 4K. 

That said, this movie still rules. The excellent story, solid acting and Keith David really goes to show that even with a smaller budget, you can make an effective sci-fi action thriller. 

Holds up well still, but has its dated edges and slightly plodding middle kind of prevent this from being a 5 star affair.
