    Ash

    ★★½

Even though I appreciate how the film did so much visually with so little, I was overall left disappointed with Ash, as it’s narrative is uneven and drags on until the third act where it starts to pick up more in my opinion. Eiza González and Aaron Paul are true stars here though!

  • Magazine Dreams

    Magazine Dreams

    ★★★½

Effectively gripping and bleak, though narratively uneven at times and the ending not working all too well for me, Magazine Dreams is overall still worth the watch, especially for Jonathan Majors’ intense and committed performance!

    Black Bag

    ★★★★

Sharply-written, well-acted, well-crafted, especially with it’s tight editing and great score, and also filled with plenty of twists, Black Bag is one of those spy films that are rarely ever made nowadays. I know a lot of people have been saying that about this movie, but it really is true! Every character, every conversation they have, it’s integral to the story and it all just adds up so well in the end! Highly recommend this film, definitely worth your time!

    Novocaine

    ★★★★

An absolute blast of a movie with plenty of action, humor, and also led by a charismatic Jack Quaid, Novocaine was an absolute delight of a surprise that I’d say is worth your time! My only real gripe is how some of the sequences dragged on a little bit, but all in all, this film definitely didn’t need to go as hard as it did.

The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim

    ★★★

Though its animation is uneven at times, and the story is far from perfect, Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim still has enough substance to be a solid trip back to Middle-Earth.

    Moana 2

    ★★½

Though beautifully animated and well voice acted like its predecessor, you can definitely tell that Moana 2 was originally supposed to be a TV show because its narrative is a mess. An hour and 40 minute movie that moves too fast for you to really care about what’s going on, I was sadly let down by this film. I think I’ll just stick to the original.
