    I’m broken.

It has already been stated but I repeat: newcomer Owen Cooper has produced the most outstanding performance of the year.

    • Realistic portrayals.
    • Provocative and a up to date theme.
    • Each episode is filmed as a single continuous take which turns out perfect.

Stephen Graham also shows once again what a great actor he is, the final scene is among the best I've seen in a long time.

“I’m sorry son, I should have done better.”

Co-worker: I've got a slogan already: "Reliable garbage disposal since 1986."
    Nikander: But that's now.
Co-worker: That's why it catches the eye.

This is the sixth film by Kaurismäki that I have seen and as usual a longing for more is awakened.

Kitchen sink realism à la finland has really become my cup of tea. It is extremely everyday, grey and has occasional misery. Maybe something that not everyone appreciates, but I'm laughing happily that I discovered this movie treasure.

Very basic Beck. Good enough on a lazy sunday evening.

Jiminy Cricket: Well... guess he won't need me anymore. What does an actor want with a conscience, anyway?

Let's start with the animation, which is both imaginative and lovely to watch. The film itself is actually a bit better than I remember, the story takes many turns and it never gets boring.

I also like that the whole thing takes place in several different environments. But above all, I like that the movie has a darker, more adult tone with a balanced dose of humor.

The part with Pleasure Island is a highlight, definitely wonderfully twisted (really scary when I was younger!!).
